About us
The association was declared on 02/02/2010 AD, to serve the deaf in all the emirates of the country, and the headquarters is located in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Vision
We aspire to distinguished and effective participation in bringing about a qualitative change in the development of Emirati society.
Mission
We seek to build a civil society whose members enjoy full rights and effective participation by providing development services to empower the deaf.
Objectives
- Introducing the community and making it aware of the characteristics, capabilities and rights of this group.
- Establishing cooperative relations with associations and centers with similar objectives to exchange experiences and represent the country in international forums.
- Create an information base to serve the needs of the deaf.
- Introducing sign language and disseminating it in the community by offering its courses.
- Encouraging research related to deafness and deafness.
- Improving the services provided to the deaf.
- Rehabilitation of the deaf class and prepare them scientifically and professionally.
- Carrying out the health care role, both preventive and curative, in cooperation with the various authorities.
- Spreading awareness in the community with the aim of reducing disability and early intervention.
Future association plans
The association seeks to spread sign language by holding sign courses for various segments of society.
- The association also seeks to increase the number of its employees and administrators.
- The association works to increase the number of translators of both sexes to cover the needs of the deaf at the state level.
- In line with its ambitious plans to educate and involve its members, the association aims to provide transportation for its members to and from the association.
- Translating some religious books and cultural programs into sign language.
- Preparing translators at the highest levels to serve the deaf in various institutions and ministries.
- Providing special devices to assist the deaf, such as hearing aids and vibrating wake-up devices.
- Holding conferences on developing the level of education for the deaf, and other conferences on educating the deaf.
- Participate in various external events to represent the country and the deaf group.
- Exchange visits with various delegations from all countries of the world in order to exchange experience and information.
- Participation in various events and occasions.
- Issuing brochures and magazines for the association and the deaf category.
- Involve its members in health and sports clubs.
