The Emirates Deaf Association organized the second Deaf Forum under the slogan: Aspirations of the Deaf in the Next Fifty, where a brainstorming session was held during which proposals and ideas for developmental deafness were taken in the coming years to serve the vision and aspirations of the government of the United Arab Emirates. On the human rights of deaf people and the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities targeting the Emirati deaf community. The workshop was attended by Arab delegations participating in the meeting of the General Assembly of the Regional Secretariat for the Arab Region.
