Princess Taghrid Institute for Development & Training
About Princess Taghrid Institute for Development and Training (PTI)
Princess Taghrid Institute for Development and Training (PTI) was established to empower, rehabilitate, and integrate orphaned girls over the age of 18—upon their transition into the local community. These young women were often exposed to vulnerability, exploitation, and social rejection.
In response, PTI launched the Aftercare Program for orphaned girls aged 18–24, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Development, aiming to prepare them psychologically, socially, professionally, and academically for successful integration into society. The program is accompanied by awareness campaigns that seek to shift societal perceptions, encourage acceptance, and promote community support, enabling beneficiaries to achieve safety, stability, and a dignified life.
Building on this foundation, the Institute expanded its mission to include the empowerment of women, youth, and persons with disabilities across all governorates, particularly in underserved and poverty-pocket areas. PTI provides training, capacity-building, and productivity opportunities, while also creating employment pathways, supporting home-based and small entrepreneurial projects, and marketing beneficiaries’ products locally and internationally.
