Dates for the much-awaited 5th edition of AccessAbilities Expo have been unveiled by its organisers, Nadd Al Shiba PR and Event Management. It will be held from 9 to 11 in October 2023, at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The market response from the global, regional and local industry and community players has been overwhelming – over 50 per cent of space has already been booked. Technology and Innovation, like the previous editions, will be among the key themes in this edition as well in line with the aspirations of over 50 million People with Disabilities in the larger Middle East region, 13 of which are part of the Arab world, as the 21st century nears its quarter. The three-day edition will continue to be the largest of its kind in the Middle East, North Africa and the Indian Subcontinent region. The B2C platform will bring under the umbrella all the prominent manufacturers and distributors of Assistive and Rehabilitative products and services, along with the government authorities, rehabilitation centres and health and educational centres dealing with People of Determination. The event is expected to attract the participation of over 250 exhibitors from 70 countries, and more than 12,000 visitors from the disability community and their families and friends. The latest report on the global market for ‘services’ for the elderly and People with Disabilities titled “Global Market Report 2023” provides a comprehensive source of information that covers every facet of the services for the elderly and persons with disabilities, stating that the market is expected to grow to US$606 billion. More than two billion people will need at least one Assistive device by 2030, with many older people needing two or more devices. The elderly and disabled Assistive Devices market size will reach US$37.26 billion by 2030.
