The Dubai Autism Center (DAC) was established in 2001 by a decree of Ruler of Dubai as the first non-profit Emirati organization that aims to provide integrated consulting, educational, and therapeutic supportive services in the field of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

As per Decree No. 26 of 2021, one of DAC’s main objectives is to contribute to making the Emirate of Dubai a global leading hub in the field of providing approved special education programs and specialized rehabilitative treatment services for people diagnosed with Autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

In 2017, the opening of its largest facility in the region marked a significant leap forward for the DAC. Located in Al Garhoud area, the fully-equipped facility aims to cover the high demand for its services with a total built-up area of 270,000 square feet that increases its capacity to 150%. It includes 34 classrooms, 22 motor therapy clinics, 18 speech therapy clinics, 3 sensory-therapy rooms, and a range of laboratories and medical clinics designed according to the latest international standards to provide a suitable educational environment for children with autism.

Today, the Dubai Autism Center provides the necessary clinical services for the diagnosis, detection, and assessment of autism spectrum disorder according to the latest international standards. The most prominent initiatives of DAC in this field are the Free Consultation Sessions Initiative for all children suspected of having autism, as well as the Free Comprehensive Diagnostic Assessment Initiative for children of UAE nationals.

In addition, the DAC provides counseling support and training programs for the families of individuals with autism and for their caregivers. The "Coffee Morning" program is one of the most important monthly meetings organized by the DAC for the parents of DAC students, which provides an ideal opportunity to discuss parents' issues and share their experiences directly, and to benefit from and get acquainted with the therapeutic methods offered by the DAC. In addition, the Dubai Autism Center organizes a series of free training lectures through social media platforms, in order to reach the largest possible segment of families of individuals with autism.
