Jad’s Inclusion
Jad’s Inclusion (JI) is the positive result that evolved out of the frustration and struggles faced by a mother of a Dubai-based with her middle child with Autism who was rejected admission by 22 schools only in Dubai in 2013/14.
JI is a center structured as a school to fill the existing gap in education between mainstream schools and special needs centers. It was developed to cater to children and young adults with learning difficulties whom the mainstream system and traditional school environment are unable to accommodate, yet their impairment is not severe enough for them to be in a special need one and, therefore, are stuck in the middle and are deprived the basic right of education.
We offer a mix of specialized programs that cover all aspects such as academics, vocational training, money management, self-care, and community service, and cater to children and young adults between the ages of 4 – 18 years old who are identified with a range of diagnoses and unique needs. Our students combine a range of various diagnoses such as Asperger’s, high and mid-functioning autism, CP, Down Syndromes, ADD, Dyspraxia, etc.).
In only one year of functioning, families moved from Pakistan, and Lebanon, and relocated from the US, Canada, and the UK to join us, and were able to integrate many students into the mainstream system.
Our highly trained staff members are all chosen because of their outstanding individual qualifications. They undergo regular highly specialized training and receive continuous support to deal with the holistic needs of each student using a nurturing approach that emphasizes independence and inclusion. Students’ needs will be considered and met through Individualized education plans, which will support their continued growth and independence.
On August 2nd, 2018, at the tender age of 11, the reason behind it all, Jad, unexpectedly passed away in his sleep. On January 31st, 2019, on what was supposed to be Jad's 12th birthday, our initial name Modern Alternative Education got changed to Jad’s Inclusion in his tribute.
