A group of 20 children from Senses Residential and Day Care for Special Needs (Senses) has visited the newly-opened Mohammed bin Rashid Library, Dubai’s latest beacon of culture and learning.
During their visit, the children presented a painting of the new building that was created by 30 children from Senses alongside artist Snehita Gehlot. It took four days to complete. Officials and employees from the Mohammed bin Rashid Library, led by Dr Mohammed Salem Al Mazrouei, a member of its Board of Trustees, welcomed the group.
The children stopped at the ‘Children’s Library’ that has beautifully designed areas for reading and playing, and a space for interactive activities that contribute to expanding the knowledge and learnings of the younger generation. This library offers a variety of books and publications targeting ‘children of determination’ like audio and Braille books.
The tour had been an opportunity for the group to interact at the spacious facility that combines learning and fun and integrates the experiences of paper books and advanced technology by browsing the digital versions designed and presented attractively.
Dr Al Mazrouei said: “We received the delegation and introduced the member to the Mohammed bin Rashid Library and our variety of services, including audio and Braille books and all the special services and facilities designed for People of Determination.” The library is equipped with the latest technologies that help integrate People of Determination into public life and empower them through access to a wide variety of books and resources.
Dr Nadia Khalil Al Sayegh, Director-General of Senses Residential and Day Care for Special Needs (Senses), said: “This library is an embodiment of the vision of our inspiring leader, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai.’
“He considers investing in the nation’s people as an essential element in achieving sustainable development. This library is an intellectual hub that incubates culture, creativity, initiatives and knowledge projects.”
The tour, led by Khawla Al Sayegh, Deputy Executive Director at the Centre, witnessed the participation of Farhan Shahid, Director of Projects Development and Dr Ismaeil Abdo, Educational Supervisor, among several medical and educational specialists, according to a report by the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
