manimundo GmbH, a company based in Germany, has developed a learning concept called a home sign language course, in which the deaf child learns sign language as a native language through home visits by deaf instructors. At the same time, the parents and hearing siblings learn sign language as a second language online and at home in a self-study course and with a teacher (blended learning). This gives the family a perfectly functioning means of communication with sign language. In addition to language teaching, the course also contains important tips for dealing with deaf children. Here, manimundo was able to draw on the experience of its employees, who are themselves parents of deaf children.
